At the height of the La Dolce Vita period in the 1950’s, boat builder Mario Comitti began building high speed mahogany launches on the shores of Lake Como in northern Italy.
From the start, his boats
combined the craftsmanship,
style and engineering genius for which Italy is renowned.
Today, Comitti is the sole remaining Italian boat yard building a classic all wooden motor boat in hand laid mahogany.
The allure of this style of speedboat, made famous by such makes as Riva and Chris Craft, captured the love and devotion of movie stars, presidents, playboys, billionaires and lovers of all things that epitomised the beauty and essence of the Dolce Vita Period.
It was not uncommon to see the likes of Sophia Loren, Bridget Bardot and President John F Kennedy cruising the waters in such beauties of timber and chrome.
“La Dolce Vita” brings this passion, beauty and romance to our beautiful Sydney Harbour so you too can experience the Sweet Life.
